Wedding

I have more nieces than nephews who are still singles one by one will be getting married in times to come some already have partners some still in school.Last December a nephew and niece got married and now 5 months later another niece.....and Insya'allah another next year.

Yesterday was Syda's wedding held at Desa Kartika all in one akad nikah till bersanding before the couple left to change their outfit for another ceremony held by the groom's family at the SAF Yatch Club.

Alhamdulillah the event went well with families and friends attending the simple ceremony.Relatives whom we haven't met for a long time were present too.Its the only way always met at weddings :)
The function ended at 4.30pm and I even managed to drop in Metro which is just few metres away to get kitchen floor rugs.

The night full of surprises

1st April 2011 was a night the Jellanies will not forget for a long time.A night full of surprises awaits everyone.Since my birthday I've been keeping the secret of my sister Maria & hubby's arrival to myself as requested by them.I am to arrange dinner when everyone will be together and we chose 1st April to make it into an april fool joke. I smsed to all the siblings that I am giving a treat as a belated birthday treat from me to them with a msg attendance is compulsary!no question asked:) ... Maria and John arrived on 15th March and stayed 1 night before leaving the next morning for Nepal and Bhutan for 2 weeks.My heart was jumping wanting so much to prepare the rest but a promise is a promise. They came back on 30th March and again I met up with them as they were then staying at The Elizabeth as its in the package.For the 2nd time they sneaked to my place for dinner and fyi my youngest sister live 2 blocks away from me. Then came the gala night ... initially we arranged that Maria and John walk in when everyone is present then came the smses some maybe late so we decide we will be there early and wait for them and thats when the shocked & surprised faces as they saw the guests of honour.It was a night of fun fun fun ... the five spice girls ... latifah,maria,lina,ram and aini

they bothleft for Texas on sunday evening but before that the weekend was nothing but eat and eat with the siblings.

Renal .......

Last night soon after dinner and I was watching 'Nur Kasih' online @ TV3 my mobile phone rang and saw my sister Maria's no appeared quickly pick it up and she told me my bro in law was in pain a day earlier that she had to drive him to the emergency dept and they suspect kidney stone and did a scan but no stone seen ... by then he was feeling better so they thought he may has passed it out when he was in the washroom.

But after a good sleep he woke up with pain again at same place .... I spoke to him and ask exactly where the pain is *macam specialist konon*and he describes and it was questions and answers for few minutes and told him the stone/stones is probably too tiny that they couldn't see it and its probably also is stucked somewhere in the urethra and encouraged him to drink plenty of water and take a pain killer and most important to strain his urine incase the stone pass out.At same time they will call the hospital too ..... first thing in the morning when I woke up tried calling them but no answer and first thing came to my mind he probably gone to the hospital.


Luck was with me and I saw my nephew Adam online in FB and ask him to try calling too with same answer but Adam did speak to them few hours before and dad is feeling better after he passed out 2 tiny stones *whew* it was a great relief to hear.

Maria also called back after she got my voice message and where did they go?they went to a neighbour house who also had kidney stone before and his was huge that they had to blast it to small pieces. She will informs the hospital what happen the last 12 hrs ......

I have a helper last 3 days and unlike Zino no ironing semua di tanggong beres ...... so happy .....

Weekend is here again

The weekend is here again and then back to monday blues .... arghhhhhhh .... monday is youth day so no school but poor aunty nurse has to come in for half a day because some students are coming in for Grease rehearsel so need to monitor them with temperature taking and travel declaration and since I am there I will be organising the temp sick bay too due to this stupid H1N1 things ..... afterall its droplet infection and not airborne ...... why want to make so much fuss ............

Last night Dr Adah came to visit bringing dinner for me ... laksa for herself and fish slice soup for me and fried carrot cake.She says she has been thinking of me since last week and after reading my blog she finds something not rite .... hahaha....she called and I told her I am ok but insist on coming and ask what I want to eat?.... doc you are one in million even my own siblings won't bother :( ....thank you doc adah for being there too.

Now and Then

Its almost a year bapak left us and I can see the difference first tv outside only on during the weekend and in the morning when I am having my coffee and reading the paper....now I have the remote but I still prefer to watch in my room.





Foodwise I still buy the same stuff to stock the freezer and this is one I can't change and don't ask me why cause I don't have the answer to it.





When there were 2 of us I used to buy the 600gms bread as father love bread and he norm will toast them .....

without him I change to the 400gms even after 10 days the bread only half taken as I am not a bread girl no time to eat in the morning ........ so the bread went stale - mouldy most times.

Lately I bought the smallest 300gms and this also will last for 1 week ..... unless I have sambal tumis ikan bilis to eat with .... hardly toast it as I don't norm take breakfast .... peanut butter been on the shelf last 6-8 months hardly touched.

A 5kg pack of jasmine rice will last me about 2 months ....

Then comes the eggs bought 10 eggs and its still there for 2wks and when I decide to do something with it found that its no longer fresh ............ so now I kept them in the fridge .......

same goes for other stuff sugar 1kg will last for 2 months most time as I prefer things 3 in 1 for coffee and milo and my box of tea is still full like before bapak drinks tea.

Come thursday it will be a year arwah left us and the time just flew by too fast ... his things in the room is still intact maybe after thursday I will keep them.

His clothings which are too big for the brothers and in laws will be given to home for the poor or who ever wants them.

I will do the kenduri tahlil on saturday 13th June.

Some sentimentals valuable been taken by siblings for remembrance and I am keeping one of his watches.

2nd cousins aka 2 pupu

We are of same age with me and As being the oldest @59 and the others are also in their 50's ... Today we get to meet again and I managed to snap group pictures after over 30 yrs.I went to one of 2nd cousins son's wedding at Tampines.


I was early reaching around 12 plus - my bro Fandi came to fetch me and its good as we don't have to Q to get our food as we know now a days its buffet style.The food were delicious I had bryani with beef,ayam merah,udang black pepper,dalca and pacri nenas....besides these there are also gado2,beehoon goreng.


My sis Lina and BIL Yazid were there b4 us and as usual we get to meet our relatives during these functions .... bersalam2an.

Me with 3 0f 5 siblings .... Zakiah,Hasnah,me and Farida .... Azizah (mak pengantin) busy layan tetamu and youngest sis Nita no where to be seen maybe busy too.Do you know the last time I saw Zakiah was more than 30 yrs ago ... we seldom meet except at functions like this.The rest I met them on and off and more when my dad was in hospital and during his kebumian.We went to the same secondary school 2nd best girls school at that time after Raffles Girls .... we got our alma mater @ Crescent Girls School.


After that we start working and the girls got married and left the nest ... occassionally we do meet at weddings but not Zakiah ..... I am really glad we did finally today.

As and me we are both 59 and she has 2 children in their 30's ....... do you notice I am wearing their theme colour .... hahaha .... jingga/orange.

Ida has 3 daughters and one of them is her carbon copy .......

ahhhh ..... I didn't get to take picture with Zakiah alone I think she was busy after that group photo as these girls are incharge of receiving guests.

The gift ( bunga telur) .... now it comes in all kinds of shape ......

Big brother wannabe

The picture says a thousand words .......... yes little Will gonna a big brother come September....and that means I am going to be a nenek again.If Will was born in the month as his nenek Maria in July his little brother or sister will be born in papa John's September birthday month and its just a coincidence.


I did nothing today but eat and sleep .... I had leftovers of the mamak bihun for breakfast and cili crab for lunch and dinner just fruits.I have enough of leftovers in my fridge for the next few days.


I did all the washing and tomorrow have to do the ironing urggggghhh!! I hate ironing .. HELP.
Do you like ironing?let me do the cooking anytime but NO IRONING PLEASE.


At this moment Maria and John are still onboard and will only arrive in Houston around 3.30am ...just imagine 25 hrs on the plane just like when I travel there in December .... ouch!!
From Houston they still have to drive another 4 hours to Kerville where they live ... can take connecting flight but that means having to stay overnite.Due to jetlag they are going to stay1 nite in Katys and drive back next day as its not safe to drive in that situation.


Ummi is sending her baby over to stay with with for the weekend ... jadi tak ummi?.... hahahaha

Missed .............

Raden galoh left a comment few days ago that she will be in JB her hometown during the CNY and she hopes to see me but being not familiar with JB(on my own-as most time my siblings will drive) I told her that unlikely I can.

Then 12plus today my bro called and inform me that my cousin is seriously ill in hospital in JB Putri Medical Centre.He had an attack of stroke and condition doesn't look good so before I left I sms Raden Galoh to ask if she is still in JB as I will be going to visit my cousin.

Unfortunately she already left for KL and was at Pagoh ... alahai mmg takde rezeki nak bertemu...insya'allah maybe in Kl ya sis.

My cousin is also Imran Ajmain's uncle so Mus or Imran if you reading this abg Jalal doesn't look good do visit him if you can.

From the hospital my cousin's son Dr.S (who is also the radiologist at Putri) brought us to his new house ...oh my god the house is so beautiful .. its huge I just love the kitchen its so big and has a dining area in the corner and breakfast counter too.


Being public holiday there was a bad jam into JB itself .... we cleared the Singapore side within 10 minutes but took an hour to get into JB new immigration complex.... very bad indeed a 2 lane traffic!!!

Producer wannabe

Happy 17th annivesary to ummi 365 semoga istana ydg dibena kekal ke cucu-cicit insya'allah.

My nephew Asykari and his asst producer discussing with scripwriter below .Asykari is my arwah brother Esa's son he was only 3 when my brother left us.He is interested in film making thus enrolled himself in that faculty at the polytechnic.

Salam Aidil Adha...

Salam aidil adha pada semua kaum family dan juga kekawan di mana jua anda berada...nampak2 banyak yg dah pulang ke kampong ... sunyi nampak nya alam maya 2-3 hari ni.


Hari ni saya ada buat entry on cheese cake but unfortunately I had to put in draft and I like to thank neeza as usual now a days selalu dapat first prize....hehe....dan juga pada tetamu saya tuan/puan rm for the comment and advice unfortunately he/she is an anon so I can't return the visit.

My 2 cheese cakes I did this morning butttttttttttttt I forgot to put in the whip cream ...adoiiiiiiiiiiiii ..... ni otak ingat holidayyyyyyyyyyyy lah punya pasal.

At 2.30pm my sis Aini came to fetch me and off we went to Centre Point and I got my luggage ....

Here it is a blue colour and it was selling @ S$190/- but being Robinson member I got 20% less and its has a 3 years warantee....I decide not to get a hard case luggage like before as the hardcase itself is so heavy..... ok going with 1 bag probably come back with 2 bags......hahaha
We had a late lunch at MacD and I had the fillet o fish .......


Came home around 6.30pm and I start doing the dadih and decide to make the rock melon flavour instead of durian flavour....and this is our dessert for tomorrow.
I just finish preparing the rempah2 for tomorrow's dishes nothing much cooking except for beef curry,sambal tumis sotong,sambal goreng with white rice and will also fry some beehoon goreng.

The rock melon dadih did 40 of those .........
